Hello my people, it seems that I am getting serious. Showing up the second time this month, to Jesus be my glory. Hanyway, when I thought about support systems I immediately thought about bras. Which is odd because I do not like bras, yes I am in the ‘let the titties be free’ association 😛 . If you are wondering  why bras, I am here to inform that this post has absolutely nothing to do with bras just thought it would be a good title, so take it like that.

Now to the koko of this post. I grew up knowing support systems were important but I didn’t know know #jooget. As I got older I realized that I was and still am an acquired taste. A level of awareness has been at the back of my mind  that I would most likely not have many friends. I have known that I would be the extrovert with few friends which I have made my peace with a long time ago.

So from a very young age I have found a way to master the blend of social interaction with solitude. Unfortunately I became too comfortable in the solitude. I am seriously not trying to sound like all these internet quotes that are promoting loneliness in the name of self sufficiency( I think I just broke a table, oops) 😯 .

Well what jolted me out of this dysfunctional comfort was when life decided to turn my life into to a public toilet when I was in Jss3. The summary of the story is that my house mistress at that time and ‘her babies’ decided to make my life worse than hell. It was a strange time that I definitely didn’t handle well. It was then that I realized no matter how ‘strong’ you are life would find a way to humble you without community.

‘ A single broom stick can be easily broken, while sticks of broom in a group are harder to be destroyed’. If you are wondering who said that Mrs Ibukun Ekisola did, you are welcome 🙂 . I have realized that support system is a way of maintaining sanity in this very crazy world. With that being said make sure you curate people that are loyal but are also honest. People that have empathy, are reliable , want the best for you and most importantly have sense ❗ . I am especially proud of my support system that spans across different ages which include both family and friends. Shout out to my support system. On this note I end with; HAVE A STURDY SUPPORT SYSTEM.

What does support system mean to you?

Have you curated your own tribe?

Does your support system actually function?

Hello people of the internet. My name is Ekisola Iretomiwa. I am a young lady still growing. I have a billion scars because I showed up for this thing called life. (I am literally quoting my fake therapist   ). I hope you enjoy the roller coaster that is my mind.
